What an amazing day we have had. First this this morning, we got Quinn's new braces. They take her feet up almost 3 sizes, so I have to get use to that, she looks like her feet are huge now.
Now that we have that set, we met up with Chrissy, Casey, Suzanne, and Kurt at Total Respiratory and guess what we finally have? Her chair!
Well, Quinn and Casey had to give each other a little love while I learned a bit about the chair. Then it was Quinn's turn, and this picture sums up what she thought!
This is so cool and exciting! She was so excited! Honestly just sitting here typing this, makes me bawl. This is going to change her life is so many ways. She is going to be in control! She won't have to wait for folks to help her or answer her as much. She will be able to move on her own. Oh my goodness, this is so huge for us. I can't even fathom how this will change her life, but I'm so excited to watch what happens.
We had a two hour appointment where we had to adjust everything, the seat, the foot rest, the joystick, the dynovox, move things around to make them work to best support Quinn. After a bunch of work, Quinn got to drive it, and she was so patient and was so excited, then she took off. Remember this is the first time she has driven this chair, and I was amazed. We still have some adjusting and adding to do to it, and we don't have it home yet, but by the end of this week we will. She did amazing today. Thanks so much to Suzanne who has had to do so much paperwork to have this happen, and still is working on paperwork to get this totally approved, as we are still working on a few details dealing with her chair. Thanks to Kurt for working so hard to get the chair in working order, and thanks to Chrissy who started this process when Quinn was two years old. Wow, life is good!
