So the reason we ended up going to San Antonio is because of
Project Angle Fares
Morgan's Wonderland and
Morgan's Inspiration Island.
A few months ago we were made aware of Project Angel Fares, this organization gives trips to 36 families with a special needs member a trip to San Antonio yearly. Isaiah and Denali wrote up reasons it would be good for us to go and how meaningful it would be for Quinn to go to an all accessible park that she could be a part of 100%. We found out we were granted the trip and were so humbled and blessed to be able to go.
The World's First Ultra-Accessible™
Theme Park
I had heard of Morgan's Wonderland a few years ago, and had also learned about the waterpark that was now with it. It is a wonderland that is accessible for people with special needs. I wanted to get the kids down there, but did not know when or if it would happen. Thanks to Project Angel Fares, we made it work, and it was such an amazing few days. Morgan's family wanted to make something for her that was accessible, as they found out that is not the case at most places, and thanks to sponsors and great support, they have just kept adding to it. Now they are planning on making accessible camp grounds and even a building with dentists and doctors to help people with special needs get all the access to things that tend to be hard to have access to. Wow, just wow!Theme Park
It's so cool that the hero's in the park have all kinds of special needs, but it gets even better than that.
So Project Angel Fares, sponsored by
Johnson Bakery Supply folks met us and welcomed us to the park.
What a great reception of such kind people.
Oh talking about people, Isaiah said how he loves the people in Texas, they were nice, and said hi, helped hold doors, and had a good sense of humor, and joked with him. He is a fan of Texas people big time.
So we got to Morgan's Wonderland, and got some fun gifts and were celebrated, and then a few of the folks from the bakery walked around with us, and that was so nice. Talking to them, and the other family that was an Angel Fares family was so nice.We rode the carousel.
Quinn loved swinging on the swing. We were there a long time!
Quinn was swinging for awhile, so Denali took a break and some of the workers took a break laying down with her.
Isaiah even broke his pole, the fish was so big.
The game room was full of buttons and switches for kids that need that additional help to play games. Again, well done!
Green screens are super fun too!
So many places to cool off, we got to play some basketball and decided that none of us are very good at basketball! So many accessible places to play!
Wow! What an amazing day! The crazy thing is it gets even better at the water park the next day, so check back to our blog.
Thank you so much Project Angel Fares!
Thank you so much Morgan's Wonderland!
A fun place to play, but so much more than that! A great place for people to see how to include everyone, and make the world so much better by example!
What a wonderful amazing place with wonderful amazing people!
