Our trip to South Dakota.  Started at Mt. Rushmore.  I guarantee my kids knew more about that mountain then anyone else there.  We read and read and read about the artist, the drillers, the presidents, and so on.  As I worked there when I was in college, and all I can say is that it is very different then it use to be.
A shot of the black hills with the kids.
Denali met another Denali when we got our pictures taken.  They were both named after the national park in Alaska, and they were so excited to meet another Denali.
They worked so great with us and getting Quinn into a good position and excited about the pictures, and I love Isaiah's face in the next picture.  All the kids look great!

Rattle Snake Jake was right next to the old time photo place, and he happens to be in a wheelchair, and wanted to know all about Quinn, so we started talking, and he and his wife built a camp ground for people with wheelchairs.  It's hard to always find a good place to stay, and we do always try to find out if places will be accessible for Quinn, and so we were so excited to find out about the place.

Meeting the need

So please check it out if you need a handicap option for camping.  We will be going back there sometime soon.  They were so helpful for us on this trip getting us a few tickets to events, helping us with places that work better then other places for Quinn and her chair.  We are so thankful to have run into them and learned about their camp.

Next up was Reptile Gardens.

 They all touched a snake.
They touched an alligator as well.
 They also panned for gems.

They also visited an old time town.

Hung out with turtles, one of them over 100 years old.

The girls were not so sure about all the snakes, but Isaiah loved every minute of it.

I think this might have to be our family portrait for Christmas cards.  How fun is it.
Isaiah was so excited to be with the most deadly snakes in the entire world.  Oh this had to have been his favorite day of the trip!
